The Surf Camp Costa Rica is located in the tropical rainforest, just a few minutes walk from the palm-fringed sandy beach of Playa Hermosa. In the garden you can relax perfectly and sip a few cool drinks at sunset in the restaurant. You can reach the sea after a short walk through the rainforest. Apart from the palm-fringed house beach, you will find many secluded and remote beaches in the surrounding area. The turquoise sea, the tropical nature and the bathtub-warm water are just waiting to be discovered by you. By the way, in Costa Rica you have warm air and water temperatures all year round. The dry season lasts from November to April and the rainy season with clear mornings and showers in the evening starts in May and ends in October.

Surf Camp Costa Rica Accommodation

The cozy 4-person wooden bungalows are distributed in the garden of Surf Camp Costa Rica and offer you the maximum chill factor. Here you have your own bathroom, plenty of space and the pool with hammocks and sitting area right outside the door. The bungalows are the ideal place to retreat and enjoy the tranquility of nature. You can rent the bungalows by the bed or completely as a group of 4. They consist of two floors, upstairs is a chic gallery. On both floors sleep 2 people each.

You can safely leave your wetsuit at home for your Costa Rica surf trip, because the water temperatures are always around 27°C. If you don't want to transport your board on the plane, you can rent one at the camp for 80 € per week.

You can choose between longboards, malibus, mini malibus and shortboards. In the Premium Package the board rental is already included, as well as the guiding and the surf course.

Surf Camp Costa Rica Program

With yoga you can relax and train your muscles and balance for surfing. Nearby there are many courses for beginners and advanced surfers, so you can definitely do some yoga sessions.

Who hasn't wanted to ride an ATV along the ocean or endless beaches? Then here in Costa Rica you have the ideal opportunity to do so! Along the coast and inland there are endless routes that you can explore with the ATVs. You can rent the ATVs for half or full days.

Besides surfing, Costa Rica is famous for its flora and fauna! With a little luck you can meet a monkey already in the camp. In any case, walks along the coast and through the rainforest are a must. In addition to various national parks, the waterfalls in the neighboring town of Montezuma are also worth a trip, where you can discover many animals and plants.

Surf Camp Costa Rica Arrivals

For those who want to look for flights on their own, Skyscanner is a good search engine to get an overview of the cities from which the destinations in question are flown to.
Both Iberia and Condor offer direct flights to San José. In addition, there are numerous airlines that offer Costa Rica with a stopover in the U.S. (note transit regulations). Iberia flies directly from Madrid and Condor directly from Frankfurt to San José.

Der schnellere aber dafür etwas teurere Weg ist, wenn ihr einen Weiterflug nach Tambor bucht und euch von dort ein Taxi für ca. 50$ nach Manzanillo nehmt. Mehr Infos zu den Flügen findet ihr unter Nature Air.
Vor und nach eurem Campaufenthalt empfiehlt sich je eine Nacht in einem Hostel in San José einzuplanen, da die Anfahrt ins Camp ca. 6 Stunden dauert.

The cheapest way to get from San José to Santa Teresa is by bus. The bus leaves twice a day, at 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. If your flight times do not allow you to travel directly by bus, it is recommended to plan one night in a hostel in San José before and after your camp stay.

The best way is to take a cab to the bus station "7/10 Terminal" in San José. There you go to the counter of "Transporte Cobano" and buy a ticket direction Mal País/Santa Teresa. In Cobano you get off the bus and take a cab to Playa Hermosa. The journey to the camp takes about 6 hours.

Advice

If you can't reach the bus at 2:00 p.m. in San José, land too late for the pickup or want to have a day of rest after the long flight, a night in San José is a good option to get to Manzanillo and the sea relaxed the following day. In Costa Rica you can pay everywhere with Colones and Dollars, but not with Euros!
