The concept of the Eco Surf Lodge is to offer a chilled and relaxing surf holiday. The lodge was furnished with comfortable wooden furniture made by Portuguese artists and made of recycled wood. In order to give the Eco Lodge a special charm, each room is individually furnished with small artistic highlights, such as lamps made of driftwood or surfing pictures. Of course, the lodge also convinces with its proximity to the beach and the surf spot - it is only a 2-minute walk to the house beach Paraíso. The Surf Lodge's flower-covered garden is ideal for sunbathing. You can cool off and refresh yourself in the pool. There is enough space for yoga after surfing.
The endless coast of Caparica offers 13 km of sandy beaches and plenty of surf spots. Costa da Caparica is practically Lisbon's home beach and lies on the other side of the Tejo River, which flows straight into the Atlantic. The lodge is located in a quiet neighborhood, so you can completely relax not only on the beach, but also in the garden and in the rooms. Incidentally, Lisbon can also be reached in a relaxed manner in about 20 minutes by car. You can also reach Lisbon relatively quickly by public transport.
The numerous cafés, restaurants and bars offer traditional Portuguese cuisine. Market halls, shops and supermarkets are also within easy walking distance. If you want to see Lisbon, you can go by bus and ferry, or by car. In just 20 minutes you are in the city of the 7 hills, which impresses with its tiled, historical buildings, numerous sights, trendy restaurants, bars and the vibrant nightlife.
The stylish beach bar Leblon on the beach of São João is ideal for a refreshment after the surf course. With chilled lounge music you can enjoy snacks and drinks and relax optimally.
If you rent a beach cruiser, you can drive to the ferry in Trafaria, cross the Tejo River from there and land directly in the historic district of Bélem. There you can discover the famous Pasteis de Bélem (typical pastries), the monastery and the Torre de Bélem.
Souvenirs, curios and vintage gems! Every Sunday from 9 a.m. the local Portuguese offer lots of wonderful kitsch and stuff at the flea market on the beach. Here you will find original souvenirs and souvenirs and one or the other sailor's treasure!

The likeable Portuguese grew up in Caparica and runs the Eco Surf Lodge. As a passionate surfer, he is happy to give tips and reveals everything you need to know about the surf spots. He takes care of questions and concerns at any time and shows you which rooftop bar in Lisbon is currently popular.

General video analysis In each of our courses you will get direct feedback from the surf instructor on the beach! Since it is sometimes not easy to implement these tips directly due to constantly changing surfing conditions, we do it like the pros!
We will film you from the beach while you are in the water on a selected surf course day. Using some examples, direct improvement possibilities are discussed, which can help all students from the respective group. Filming and evaluating each individual student would take a lot of time, so only a few videos are selected that show common mistakes that everyone can use to orient themselves. If you are already surfing reasonably safely and want to take the next step, a video analysis is perfect for you.
With the analysis you work on key sequences that differentiate between whether you are "only" surfing solidly or whether you are experiencing a clearly noticeable learning curve.
The Eco Surf Lodge Caparica is located directly on the house beach Paraíso and CDS and offers ideal waves for every surfing level. In addition, there is everything you could wish for in terms of surfing in the area around Lisbon: from beach breaks to point breaks, the right spot can be found for every surfing level. A trip north to the Ericeira or Peniche area by car is worthwhile and offers variety. Depending on the forecast, there are many ways to find the perfect spot. With water temperatures of 17° to 20° in summer, a 3/2mm Neo is sufficient in the high season and a 4/3mm for the rest of the year.
The perfect complement to surfing! Yoga is the ideal stretching program for surfers, improves your balance and trains your deep muscles. The yoga sessions take place in the yoga room in the house next door, on the beach or in the garden. Always in the morning or evening when the sun is already lower. Classes are Monday through Friday each week. Each yoga unit lasts 1 hour and takes place with a minimum of 3 participants.
Functional exercises from different sports areas form the core of cross training. These are often performed with your own body weight - pull-ups, squats and the like build up the muscles, promote speed, coordination as well as explosive strength, endurance, maximum strength and flexibility. However, weights and other sports equipment are also used: dumbbells, barbells, terra bands, box jumps, battle rops, etc.
We offer you such training twice a week together with a fitness coach!
You can not only rent surfboards, but also body or stand up paddle boards. If you are interested, guided surf trips to other beaches in the area, such as Peniche, Nazaré or Lisbon, are also offered.
Lisbon
is only half an hour away and absolutely worth a visit! Check out the most beautiful corners and breathtaking vantage points, go shopping, ride the old trams and party on the famous rooftop bars.
Sintra
Another trip that makes the hearts of all those interested in culture beat faster is the trip to Sintra. West of Lisbon, the place, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers enchanting castles, centuries-old palaces and secret gardens. There are lots of lovely souvenir shops to discover in the winding old town.
Wine Region
If you are into wine, you should visit the different wineries and taste your way through the wine list. From white to red to dessert wine and the Portuguese Vino Verde, i.e. green wine, you can try everything.
