Surf Camp Peniche
The surf camp Peniche is located in a quiet side street only 15 minutes walk from 2 beaches.
You can choose from: shared rooms, apartments, double rooms and triple rooms. Lots of comfort and a very cozy ambience in a stylishly renovated surf camp.
Peniche
The surf camp is right next to Peniche on Baleal Beach, which has a number of surf spots (beach and reef breaks) to offer. Incidentally, today's Baleal peninsula was once an island whose name derives from Baleia, Portuguese for 'whale'. In about 10 minutes you can drive to Peniche and in an hour to Lisbon. There are also regular bus connections to Peniche. But also in Baleal there are bars and cafes on the beach where you can enjoy the sunset and party at night. Restaurants, a supermarket, surf shops and a bakery are also located here.
Last but not least, Peniche is known for the Supertubos wave, which is considered the best wave in Europe. The port city is located on a peninsula with a high cliff that slopes gently to the sea only in the north, where the port is located. Peniche is a beautiful city with narrow streets, a lighthouse and a water fortress. By the way, from the lighthouse you can see the beautiful archipelago of the Berlengas.
Supertubos
To the south of the peninsula stretches the long sandy beach Praia do Medão with the world-famous surfing spot Supertubos. With its tubular, long-lasting wave that runs over a sandy bottom, Supertubos is considered the best surfing spot in Europe. If you ever have the chance to see this wave, you should definitely make a small detour there. The excursion can be combined with a trip to Peniche, the lighthouse and the fortress.
Peniche Tour
At the westernmost point of the Peniche peninsula is Cabo Carvoeiro with a beautiful lighthouse. With its cliffs, the Kapp offers a spectacular view of the Berlengas archipelago. From here a path leads from here along the coastal road down steps into the Gruta da Furninha cave. If you want to see more, stroll further to the north end of Peniche and check out the fortress and the port.
Berlengas Islands & Fort
You can reach the nature reserve of the Berlengas Islands by ferry that departs from the port of Peniche. The crossing takes about an hour. Once there you can enjoy the view of Peniche and visit the Fort of São João Baptista, which serves as an ideal photo opportunity.
In the Surf Camp Peniche we have two 4-bed rooms for you in the main building. These dorms can be booked by groups or by single travelers.
All accommodations have just been renovated from the ground up and have their own bathroom with shower and toilet.
The 3-person apartment is ideal for small families or groups of 3 friends.
All accommodations have just been renovated from the ground up. These are self contained apartments and the front door leads directly into your own garden. When you wake up here in the morning, the view goes straight into the lush green.
We have five 2-person apartments that can be booked exclusively by friends or couples.
The apartments are located in the garden of the Surf Camp Peniche.
In the main building we have beautiful and bright double rooms for you that have just been renovated.
In the Surf Camp Peniche you can of course also take a surf course. The courses are differentiated according to surfing level, so that everyone can make optimal progress. In the surf course M you go into the water for 5 days and the course includes a total of 10 hours of practice and theory. With us you learn from the best!
For the courses you will be shuttled 5 minutes to the surf spot Baleal. The bay is also within walking distance. Since it is more comfortable for you to be shuttled and the bay is quite large, we offer you this service as an inclusive service.
In the Surf course L you go into the water for 6 days and the course includes a total of 13 hours of practice and theory. With the surf course L you have 7 times 1.5 hours in the water.
We also offer a shuttle service to the spot for surf course L. It is 5 minutes by car to the training spot in Baleal. The bay is also easily accessible on foot. However, the Bay of Baleal is quite large and in order to get you into the water as quickly as possible, we offer you the shuttle service included.
The advanced surf course takes place at the best spot for the day and the level of the surfers taking part. This course is specially designed for advanced learners.
During the video analysis you will get direct feedback from the surf instructor in each of our courses! Since it is sometimes not easy to implement these tips directly, due to constantly changing surf conditions, we do it like the pros: We will film you on a selected surf course day from the beach while you are in the water. With some examples we will discuss direct improvement possibilities that can help all students from the respective group.
Filming and evaluating each individual student would take a lot of time, so only a few videos are selected that show common mistakes so that everyone can orient themselves.
3 yoga sessions included
At the Peniche surf camp youalso have the option of booking a yoga package. This will get you in shape for your surf sessions, train your balance and stretch your muscles after a long day of surfing!
The surf camp Peniche has an indoor gym which you can use at any time. Stay fit to prepare yourself perfectly for surfing and stay in shape even on vacation.
Design your own workout or train together with other motivated guests or team members. It doesn't matter whether you work on your body alone or do circle training in a group. You'll definitely work up a sweat here!
Around 60 different, functional exercises form the core of Cross Training. Many of these training units are carried out with your own body weight - squats, pull-ups and the like build the muscles, promote coordination as well as speed, explosive power, maximum strength, endurance and flexibility. In addition to exercises with your own body weight, weights, terra bands, box jumps and battle rops are also used.
2x a week we offer you such a training together with a fitness coach!

So that you can start the day strengthened before surfing and don't have to do without a coffee, you will be provided with a balanced breakfast buffet. In addition to bread, cheese, sausage and jam, there is also fruit, muesli and of course coffee and tea.
Including dinner
Four evenings a week you will be provided with delicious and freshly prepared meals by the camp cooks. Locally sourced ingredients - always freshly processed. The on-site kitchen team is happy to cater to our guests who have special dietary requirements.
The dinners are always very sociable and you chat about the past as well as the upcoming surfing day. Among other things, there will be a rich BBQ night! We always make sure that there are enough vegetables and salad.
On the free day you can take the opportunity to explore Peniche or Baleal.

There are three major airports in Portugal: Porto in the north, Lisbon in the center and Faro in the south. The best airport to get to Surfcamp Peniche is Lisbon (LIS).
Shuttle
We offer a shuttle service so that you arrive relaxed at the camp.
Lisbon Airport --> Surfcamp Peniche: € 80, one way (max. 4 people per car)
Public transportation
Lisbon airport is approx. 95 km away from Surfcamp Peniche. If you want to go by bus, you have to plan a journey time of about 1 hour and 45 minutes. You can plan your exact route on >>Rome2Rio.
There are two bus lines you can take:
Rede Expressos
You can get tickets for the bus directly at the counter of the bus station in Sete Rios. From the airport to the bus station you can either take a taxi for around € 7 or the Airport Shuttle 96 for € 3.50. The journey time to the bus station is approximately 20 minutes.
Rapido TEJO (weekdays only)
You can get tickets directly on the bus. The best way to get to the Campo Grande bus station is to take a taxi for around €5. The journey takes around 10 minutes.

Rental car

Courses are provided to the traveler as part of a group. The size of the group usually varies between 4 and 12 surfers depending on the demand. Classes are usually in German or English. Courses are limited for people with reduced mobility.

Payment: The down payment of 20% of the travel price is payable immediately and to be transferred to our account stating the invoice number, plus any immediately payable services, such as insurance, processing fees or stop and airport surcharges. The balance is to be transferred no later than 30 days before departure also under indication of the invoice number on our account. For bookings less than 4 weeks before departure, the entire amount is due immediately and send a screenshot of the transfer by e-mail to us to avoid reminder fees.
